Jose Javier Fuster, coordinator of atheroclonal, delivered a plenary lecture at the 68th Annual Meeting of the Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis Research celebrated in Vienna, Austria, from February 27th to March 1st.

The Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis Research was founded in 1982. Since then, GTH has held a conference in Germany, Austria or Switzerland every year and has established itself as the world’s second largest specialist society in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis.
GTH is a non-profit association in the sense of an interdisciplinary, scientific and medical professional society and serves purely scientific and educational purposes. The more than 1000 members of GTH deal clinically and scientifically with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of coagulation disorders and thrombotic diseases.

In this invited lecture, entitled “Clonal hematopoiesis and cardiovascular disease: from humans to mice and back“, Dr. Fuster presented an overview on the relationship of clonal hematopoiesis and cardiovascular disease, including not only the latest advances in the thrombosis field, but also the knowledge gained on atherosclerosis derived from the work done by the atheroclonal consortium.
